    The David Geffen School of Medicine, Department of Surgery is seeking to hire a full time Residency Coordinator. The Residency Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily administrative activities of the residency program as outlined in the ACGME Institutional, Common Program, Specialty Program Guidelines for Graduate Medical Education and the governing boards. You will serve as the primary liaison between the Residency Program Director, chief residents, residents, program faculty, GME Office, and affiliated teaching sites concerning residency program matters.

    Pay Range: $24.28 - $48.04 hourly.Qualifications

    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, house staff, and community physicians.

    • Skill in setting priorities to complete work promptly when there are changes in workload, pressures of deadlines, and competing requirements.

    • Skill in operating a PC including the use of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook, and other online programs.

    • Ability to use specialized educational software to record PowerPoint presentations with audio and complete the video processing of the lectures.

    • Skill in writing and editing correspondence with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation and with speed and accuracy.

    • Skill in creating print materials such as flyers, brochures, posters, and handouts to be viewed by faculty, trainees, community physicians, and the public with correct grammar and accuracy.

    • Ability to make oral group presentations to provide information and explain policies and procedures.

    • Skill in coordinating special events by determining place, time, and arranging catering, parking, etc.

    • Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly in response to telephone inquiries about the programs, conferences, special events, and physician referral.

    • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments.

    • Knowledge of basic math to compile and construct tables, charts, and graphs

    • Skill in operating basic audiovisual equipment, such as LCD projector, slide projector, Audience Response System, and microphone systems.

    • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend days and evenings, as needed.

    • Ability to handle sensitive documents and matters with discretion. Ability to identify matters of a confidential nature and uphold standards of confidentiality and professionalism always.

    • Knowledge of University's Medical Education Systems.

    • Ability to multitask effectively and skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work promptly when there are changes in workload and assignments, pressures of deadlines, and/or a heavy workload.

    • Experience planning and implementing educational programs related to trainees.

    • Skill in coordinating meetings, dinners, lectures, etc.

    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents and students for recruitment and orientation purposes.

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.

    • Working knowledge of University and procedures in regards to Medical Education.

    • Experience in planning and implementing policies.

    • Ability to work remotely and in the office as required.
