The Residency Program Coordinator coordinates the day-to-day administrative aspects of the Neurological Surgery Residency Program in collaboration with the Program Director, Associate Program Director and residents (trainees), and the other institutional and regulatory administrative offices such as the GME, ACGME and the ABNS. The PC reports to the Department Administrator and works directly with the Program Director for GME activities and to the GME Office for accreditation compliance. Responsibilities + Responsibilities include but are not limited to: The Residency Program Coordinator will provide overall administrative support for residency and fellowship trainees and medical students as follows: + Maintains trainees and alumni files and online databases for accreditation purposes (ACGME, GME Track, FREIDA, ABNS) and post-graduate training verifications; + Assists with the development and maintenance of trainees' schedules; + Coordinates didactic and grand rounds lectures; records and tracks trainees' conference attendance; + Manages and maintains all information in medhub including rotation schedules, evaluation distribution, goals and objectives, duty hours, etc.; + Processes all necessary paperwork for hospital and university appointments; + Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, Dean's Office, Immigration Office and GME; + Coordinates in-service exams; manages schedules, evaluations and goals and objectives + Coordinates new trainee orientation; organizes and coordinates all aspects of the recruitment process; + Management of annual Residency interview season (September - January) + Prepares and submits rank order list to the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP); + Prepares agendas, reports and minutes for PEC, CCC and other educational meetings; + Coordinates educational activities including reserving conference rooms, ordering food, etc.; + Assists in coordinating medical students rotations; + Works on special projects for the Program Director and/or Manager; + Performs additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 3 years of related experience. Preferred Qualifications Proficient with Excel and Word; ability to independently prioritize work; exceptional organizational skills; demonstrate initiative and ability to utilize resources effectively; excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal); excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills. Experience in medical and hospital education administration; experience with ACGME and ERAS.
