    The mission of the Lory Student Center ( LSC ) is to serve as a student-centered organization at the heart of campus, providing programs and services that create an inclusive community and inspire active, engaged learning. As an auxiliary enterprise within the Division of Student Affairs, the LSC is a comprehensive student union recognized nationally as one of the leading university centers. The LSC annual operating budget is approximately $40 million. Nearly 125 full-time career staff and 650 student and hourly staff serve approximately 24,000 people entering the facility daily and hosts approximately 13,000 annual events and meetings.     Position Summary

    The purpose of the Textbook Returns Specialist is to obtain books and supplies students need for classes each semester. This is accomplished by using data to make buying decisions and by working with campus departments, book and supply vendors, and other store staff to help provide course materials to the CSU community. This position works through the process to acquire needed materials using a variety of sources to ensure the lowest prices possible. This position is also responsible for processing credit memos for overstock returns, damaged/defective materials, cancelled books, and materials not received when credit is expected. This position also assists in the special-order process and establishes textbook rental pricing based on quotes from existing vendors.

    Required Job Qualifications

    • High school diploma AND 4 years related work experience OR 4-year college degree.

    Preferred Job Qualifications

    • 3 years full time product ordering or 3 years working full time in college store industry or 3 years working full time in retail or customer service environment.

    • Previous bookstore experience or similar retail operation.

    • Experience with customer service, returning merchandise, reconciling credits and managing course material kits.

    • Experience with inventory management system and point of sale systems.

    • Ability to work with a diverse population including students, faculty, and vendors outside of Colorado State University.

    • Evidence of problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve accounting discrepancies.
