As the Senior Accounts Receivable Clerk - Team Lead , you'll play a critical role in creating a quality experience that impacts the financial well-being of our patients. In an environment where the patient is at the center of everything we do, the Senior Accounts Receivable Clerk - Team Lead play an important role on a team that supports the Accounts Receivable department by performing combinations activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assists in documenting standard operating procedures and business rules for the department

• Communicates with superiors, peers, employees, internal and external customers, and others, as appropriate, on a regular basis, assuring proper flow of information

• Assists in resolving problems relating to all areas of Patient/Third Party billings and missing information

• Responds to patient complaints and escalated issues to ensure the appropriate action for resolution occurs

• Collaborate with team members to ensure continuous improvement in processes

• Maintains current knowledge of billing requirements, denials and system practices

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in insurance billing

• 1+ year of experience in patient, client, or third-party insurance billing

• Advanced level of proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes solid keyboard and navigation skills and ability to learn new computer programs

• Experience with approvals for procedures

• Knowledge of insurance portals

• Superior Customer Service

• Solid organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment requiring solid multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

• Ability to resolve calls, avoiding escalated complaints

• Ability to exhibit empathy and be courteous to customers

• Ability to triage and handle escalated situations

• Ability to adapt to changes

• Ability to develop and maintain client relationships

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
