    Position Summary

    Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Manager to join our team for a contractual period of 2+ months. They SR. Payroll Administrator is responsible for the oversight the payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Will also develop and monitor payroll processes to align with the payroll system. Monitors any changes in labor laws which affect payroll process in multi-state environment. Responsible for preparing necessary reports. Oversight of payroll team to ensure accuracy and accountability.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Manages all aspects of the payroll processing in multiple states using UKG payroll system ensuring accuracy, compliance and outstanding service goals are consistently met.

    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

    • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.

    • Subject matter expert for payroll system for processing, implementation, and troubleshooting.

    • Ensuring multi-state taxes are set up in system and payments are processed timely and accurately.

    • Proactively identifies and resolves payroll discrepancies and determines the most appropriate method of communication to those individuals.

    • Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times related to compensation.

    • Prepares and maintains payroll records and reports, including standard and ad hoc reports to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness as required by Accounting, Finance, and HR.

    • Reviews and reconciles quarterly and annual, federal, and state, payroll tax reports.

    • Maintains payroll records in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Admin, Human Resources, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    • 3-years' experience in processing payroll.

    • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

    • Experience with multi-state payroll processing.

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    • Proficient with payroll software. Kronos and UKG preferred.
