  • Job SummaryUnder general supervision, packs and prepares company products for shipment. Assists in the shipment of all outgoing materials and monitors finished goods inventory.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Assembles specified forms, manuals and/or instructions, material safety data sheets for each addressee as indicated by distribution instructions.

    Wraps, ties, or places material in envelopes, boxes, or other containers.

    Stamps, types, or writes addresses on packaged materials.

    Process packages by UPS, Federal Express, or other common carrier.

    Keeps records of materials sent.

    Assists with logs, files, and records of shipping functions.

    Must receive and maintain valid fork lift certification in order to drive company forklift and vehicles..

    Operation of equipment, pallet jacks, etc.

    Requisitions and stores supplies to maintain stock.

    Must be regular and punctual in attendance

    Responsible for maintaining quality within the scope of the job description

    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or GED preferred. Computer literate (WORD, EXCEL). Understanding of domestic, international, and hazardous shipping.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. For safety, the use of contact lenses for any reason, cosmetic or corrective, is prohibited on the production floor, in the lab areas, in the engineering shop, or while working on equipment. The company will provide prescription safety glasses with a current (under 12 months) vision corrective prescription provided by the employee.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; drive forklift, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and move 55-gallon drums while using proper drum lifting equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to maintain a pleasant and professional manner with coworkers. The employee must receive, comprehend and follow oral and/or written instructions and orders from supervisory and/or management staff. Work with high level of efficiency. Friendly, positive attitude and dependable attendance are desirable.
