Staff Accountant

Description

Robert Half is assisting an industry leader in their search for a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing financial information, performing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Compile, maintain, and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Maintain the fixed asset sub ledger, including additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation.

• Maintain prepaid amortization schedules and other financial records.

• Assist in the preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports.

• Develop and implement systems for general accounting and make recommendations for process improvements.

• Respond to inquiries and research complex accounting issues as required.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support.

• Prepare royalty reconciliations, cash flow reports, and internal financial reports.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packages and quarterly schedules.

• Support external and internal financial audits by preparing required schedules and documentation.

• Perform service department analysis and assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 1-2 years of experience in general ledger, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting systems.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work autonomously while adhering to company policies and procedures.

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

• Experience with financial audits and reporting is a plus.
