Staff Accountant

Description Staff Accountant candidates will be interested in Robert Half's permanent opportunity with an innovative company. In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. If you can perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, you might be a good fit for this role. Your responsibilities in this role

• In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

• Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

• Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

• Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision Requirements - Current and relevant ERP system experience

• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

• High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Proficiency in general ledger

• Journal entries experience

• Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Expertise in non-profit fund accounting

• Yardi experience highly desired

• bi-Monthly Payroll experience

• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

• Recent and relevant accounting experience
