  • GENERAL PURPOSE

    Supervises and directs activities of materials supply to ensure correct receipt and delivery of medical materials & supplies. Provides facilitation and coordination of materials supply functions on patient care units.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment within the established policies and procedures:

    2. Supervises and directs of assigned staff including Stockkeepers and Transport Assistants. Develops specific job assignments. Makes decisions within hospital and departmental policy on personnel matters such as vacation. Counsels, participates in the selection process, determines disciplinary action and reviews performance. Provides training and orientation.

    3. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with patient units and other hospital departments. Serves on Administrative Committees. Investigates and follows through regarding complaints about service and reports findings to the Manager of Operations. Attends meetings with user departments to resolve operational problems and discuss quality of services.

    4. Investigates product complaints and follows through with appropriate action. Checks stock levels, equipment availability and monitors the Automatic Cart System. Coordinates movement of supplies to respective areas for credit issuance for inventory system, reprocessing and repair.

    5. Assists in the development and interpretation of departmental operating policies and procedures and ensures that they are adhered to. Conducts periodic meetings with staff to communicate, review and discuss procedures and problems related to departmental operations and prepares minutes of meetings.

    6. Researches and follows through on activity regarding patient and non patient transport. Responds to emergencies (e.g., blue 100's).

    7. Compiles data for departmental budgets. Prepares and signs routine correspondence relating to departmental functions. Maintains records pertaining to departmental functions such as personnel and statistics related to work output in an effort to evaluate and monitor services and productivity.

    8. Recommends methods for improving services and productivity.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelor's degree with course work in Business or Hospital Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $ 22.02 - $ 30.82 Hourly

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
