The Tax and Insurance Representative protects FirstBank's collateral and our borrowers' assets by monitoring, disbursing, and analyzing taxes and insurance on applicable mortgage loans; as well as monitor taxes and insurance of select non-mortgage loans. This representative will work in a team environment with opportunities to assist customers and communicate with various agencies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities+ Works with insurance agents via phone and/or e-mail to verify/obtain insurance policies.+ Evaluates escrow accounts for property taxes and various types of insurance (homeowners, flood, private mortgage insurance).+ Researches and follows up on missing, incorrect, or inadequate documentation.+ Answers phone calls from customers and other employees regarding taxes and insurance on closed loans.+ Manages loss draft occurrences, expired insurance, canceled insurance, force place insurance, and annual tax verification with the applicable procedures and regulation.+ Performs and reviews escrow analysis in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Understands, and is able to answer questions about escrow analysis.+ Completes disbursement of insurance payments on escrowed mortgages.+ Processes private mortgage insurance removal in compliance with the applicable procedures and regulation.+ Process the adding/waiving of escrowed items of mortgages upon request.+ Reviews new loans to verify tax and insurance escrows are set up properly.+ Performs other duties and projects as assigned.+ Understands and complies with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy.Minimum Qualifications of Position+ Entry-level job with little or no prior relevant work experience in the function.Preferred Qualifications of Position+ Experience with balancing transactions+ Prior insurance or property tax experienceKnowledge and SkillsIn addition to the minimum qualifications above, candidates will possess the following skills :+ Organized with a strong attention to detail+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWork is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels and light to heavy traffic.
