    Description:

    Position Purpose:

    The Unit Clerk performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the clinical unit. Serves as a communication liaison on the clinical unit.

    What you will Do:

    • Assures the medical record is adequately supplied and in proper order. Assures the workstation equipment is functioning appropriately, office supplies are adequate (not excessive), and maintains an updated working knowledge of new equipment and technology.

    • Transcribes and/or enters written physician orders, completes necessary forms, requisitions, and communication of all orders approved/reviewed by RN. Places and maintains manual orders and prints appropriate downtime forms as needed. Performs duties accurately, recognizing their importance and relationship to patient care.

    • Maintains record (inventory) of computers and other equipment for all devices assigned to department/unit. Troubleshoots low-level computer/equipment issues. Performs routine maintenance on computers/equipment devices and utilizes appropriate processes/systems to communicate computer/equipment problems/issues.

    • Communicates with internal/external customers/colleagues in a courteous, positive, empathic and professional manner, and accepts assignments willingly. Attends and participates in departmental/organizational meetings, in-services and educational opportunities when required.

    • Serves as a steward for the hospital's human and material resources. Meets productivity expectations of unit/department as defined by unit manager. Utilizes and maintains appropriate supplies in department. Supports staffing needs for patient care in multiple units, as needed, while being flexible with schedule and hours.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school graduate or GED or equivalent.

    • Basic computer experience required.

    • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

    • Self-motivated and detail oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.

    • Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse
