  • Position Summary:

    The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations within the stockroom, including inventory management, receiving and shipping goods, maintaining safety protocols, and managing warehouse staff. The primary objectives are ensuring efficient utilization of space, equipment, and personnel to meet operational targets and customer demands. Preparing and implementing wholegoods and parts shipping plans to ensure target service levels to customers are achieved. Maintaining department expenses and inventory levels within budgeted goals.

    Essential Functions of the Job:

    • Adheres to established Safety initiatives, policies and procedures.

    • Oversees day to day functions of warehouse, shipping and parts departments to meet the unit's performance criteria

    • Reviews investment in inventory and impact of forecast on this investment to maintain inventory levels at or below budgeted goal.

    • Develops a strategic plan to maintain low usage inventory while working with marketing/Sales, Manufacturing and Customer Service.

    • Maintains proper staffing levels of warehouse, shipping and parts departments.

    • Works with subordinates to develop a plan to manage customer back orders.

    • Provides managerial support and guidance of subordinates within company guidelines. Provides leadership, training and motivation to subordinates. Completes subordinates performance evaluations.

    • Utilizes computer systems, programs (JDE) and data to enhance and improve inventory availability.

    • Maintains monthly shipping goals to ensure freight cost are in line with monthly plan.

    • Works on area improvements and participates in cross functional improvement teams.

    • Identify and enforce department safety and housekeeping policy.

    • May train employees in operation and safety of equipment.

    • Conducts and monitors training programs and department meetings.

    • Knowledge of computer systems, programs and data retrieval.

    • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

    • Knowledge of Lean and 5S/Kaizen preferred.

    • Proficient analytical and evaluation skills to review historical data, indices and market trends.

    • Must be able to coordinate and plan various activities and prioritize work and/or work of subordinates.

    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines/shipping schedules.

    • Good mechanical aptitude/ability.

    • Must be physically capable of standing/ walking the production floor for 8+ hour shifts.

    • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends. May be required to travel.

    • Ability to operate forklift and material handling equipment.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Material Distribution or Logistics strongly preferred or high school diploma with equivalent experience required.

    • Minimum 4-7 years' experience in department supervision.

    • Working knowledge/experience in manufacturing environment required.

    • APICs certification desirable

    Working Conditions:

    Exposure to outdoor climate and conditions in warehouse and manufacturing area daily. Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended amount of time. Frequent mobility in and around the manufacturing facility. Some travel may be required. Ability to work overtime as needed.
