A successful company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half to take responsibility for its accounting and clerical department. The permanent Controller position is situated in the Kenosha area. Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. Effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will be essential for this role, and a creative type who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo.     What you get to do every day

    • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

    • Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

    • Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

    • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

    • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

    • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

    • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

    • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

    • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

    • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

    • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

    Requirements - Strong attention to detail

    • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

    • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

    • The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

    • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

    • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

    • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

    • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

    • CPA or MBA preferred

    • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

    • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

    • General familiarity with Monthly Financial Statements

    • Prior experience with Netsuite CRM

    • Hands-on experience with NetSuite

    • Practical knowledge of Sales Tax

    • Month-end Close Activities experience required

    • Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

    • Background working with Manufacturing Cost Accounting

    • Annual Standard Cost experience highly preferred

    • CPA experience highly valued

    • Adeptness in Monthly Account Reconciliation

    • CPG experience preferred

    • Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred

    • Good understanding of Standard Cost Accounting

    • Experience with Corporate Financial Planning

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Monthly Financial Reporting

    • Proficiency in Month-end Financial

    • Month-end Reports experience

    • Previous experience working with budget forecasting

    • Comprehension of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)

    • Earlier work involving cost accounting
