Payroll Supervisor

Description

Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Payroll Supervisor. The Payroll Supervisor will help meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. What you get to do every day

• Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions

• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports

• Manage payroll tax audits and liaise with auditors

• Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams

• Abide by relevant laws and internal policies

• Generate systems that process payroll account transactions, like salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments

• Manage timekeeping and payroll systems

• Coach and supervise payroll assistants and clerks

• Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades

Requirements

• Professional in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

• Strong organizational and leadership skills

• 5+ years of payroll experience

• Proficiency in payroll applications

• CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus

• Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

• 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll supervisor or similar role

• Knowledge of multi-location payroll and taxes

• Excellent knowledge in compliance

• Sound understanding of current payroll procedures and related laws
